Colorado Elk Hunt

Just Returned from an elk hunt in the beautiful mountains of Colorado. Excited to see the whitetail season get underway again here in Kansas!

Laine drew a limited Unit 76 Elk tag for Muzzleloader season in Colorado this year. It was a jam packed hunt with bugling bulls every day. After 5 days of hard hunting, it all came together on a nice herd bull, scoring 333 5/8 gross, at 24 yards.

This is a bull we nicknamed Squirrely after listening to his bugle the previous day. We found out he had a broken tooth and loose buglers that likely caused his strange sounding bugle.

Some of the most beautiful fall colors we have ever seen were a great way to cap off a once in a lifetime adventure. Or who knows, maybe the Lord will bless us with another opportunity like this again someday!
